So what do all of the different types of therapy I use mean? Here are some supportive descriptions of how I work in sessions, as well as links to therapeutic approaches.

My hope is for you to know that YOU are in charge of your therapy. I am here with you as we build a relationship and the safety of a therapeutic container. Below are here for you to take what you like and leave what you don’t. With each client or system the ways we work will be based on that specific relationship. I honor you and will always do my tender best to meet you there.

Here is more information about what I work with:

  • First and foremost it is an invitation. In this modality, I will invite you to notice what feels alive in the here and now. I may phrase it as multiple pots on the burners- which one feels like its about to boil over. It is a practice of choice, of boundaries, and exploration of your somatic body. It is common that the present will invite the past into the field. All is welcome, all is invited, and all is a choice.

  • My goal as your therapist is for all voices in the room to feel heard, felt, and recognized. A relationship suffers when there is competition and when there is contempt. Where do you feel connected? Where do you feel at war with one another? Do you feel sometimes in argument that there is a hidden dream not being spoken underneath the hurt? Do you sometimes feel you aren’t an adult in the relationship? These are spaces we can explore, and more!

  • It all begins with communication and relationship. Maybe you want to learn how to co-parent after a separation or divorce. Maybe you want to find common goals and boundaries to hold with your child/children . Or maybe you recognize your relationship dynamics are impeding upon the relationship with the child/children. Whatever it is, the way out is through. This is about your communication, relationship, and the developmentally appropriate ways to meet your child/children. And more than that- it is a place for you to discover and come together in a shared recognition of who that individual human/s are and what they need.

  • Play, play, play! I have over a decade of experience working with young children as an educator, and as an early childhood trauma informed practitioner. Children are often not able to make their own choices. I work deeply with choice and invitations with all my clients, and that is even more important here. I want my younger clients to discover the safety and choice in our sessions as a way to connect with their fragmented parts and reconnect with their innate power and wisdom.

When working with children my most important base in where they are in their development and form the therapeutic treatment around that foundation. Children learn about their inner and outer worlds through play. It is also where they will begin to heal.

  • Similarly to other relationship therapies, family therapy is all about the ways the system communicates. Often times there is unrecognized generational trauma and conflicts in generational and cultural divides. Familial therapy is a space where I will be more involved to support awareness of situations where the members of the family are coming up against resistance in changing how the system has learned to function. I hope to be with you all in the journey to opening the door to each member being an individual- honoring each ones reality and discovering new ways to come together better than before.
