Frequently Asked Questions About My Work

FAQs

  • We will begin with a free thirty minute consultation over my HIPAA compliant video platform or by phone. You can find a contact form for me and a scheduling page in the above menu.

I would love to meet you and tell you more about how I work. This consultation is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and determine if we would be a good fit. If after we meet you decide that you would prefer to work with another counsellor for any reason, I would be happy to give you referrals.

  • I work primarily with individual children, youth and adults of all ages. I love supporting families as well as couples and co-parents. I offer lots more info on those in my ‘What I Work With’ page on the menu bar above.

  • I do not directly offer billing through insurance at this time. I would be happy to give you what is called a super bill for you to submit to your insurance carrier if you have one.

  • I do have sliding scale at a limited capacity. If you feel I am a good fit for you in supporting your therapeutic journey and are worried about the cost- lets talk!

  • We will meet once a week at a regularly scheduled time for 50 minutes. I offer various session lengths for couples and families from 50 minute sessions to 75 minute sessions. This is a collaboration, so we can figure out which time feels the most supportive.

  • I ask that you cancel with a minimum of 24 hours notice. If you cancel within the 24 hours before session you will be charged the full session fee. This will be waved in cases of emergency.

  • I am a Gestalt trained therapist who is deeply rooted in compassionate, relational, and humanistic modalities. I care deeply about our space, and I honor whatever comes.

  • Therapy will go on as long as it supports and benefits you. You may get what you need from our work after a few months or it may continue to help you for many years.

  • Yes, yes, yes!!! Our therapeutic relationship is protected by HIPAA laws. There are reasons in which I would need to break confidentiality and I would let you know before hand so we have an opportunity to connect around that. Three primary reasons to break confidentiality would be if I am mandated by the court, if I become aware of abuse towards a youth or elderly person, of if I become aware of a plan to injure yourself or someone else.
