Offering Individual, Couples, Family, and Child Therapy Services
Hello! My name is Ruby. I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist based in the San Francisco Bay Area. I work both with in-person clients, and virtually to residents of California state wide. I see in-person clients at 1782 Church Street, San Francisco at the Integral Counseling Center at Church Street as an AMFT.
I am client-centered, compassionate, and non-judgmental. All parts of you are welcome here. The way we work together will truly be centered around our unique therapeutic relationship. Every individual, youth, couple, and family is different. I use my skills to support those differences with dignity and grace with the wish to honor where you want to go in therapy.
I work primarily with individuals, co-parents, children, and families. The majority of my adult clients come for individual work as well as couples and co-parenting therapies involving histories of addiction, interpersonal relationship trauma, depression, anxiety, panic, disordered eating and sexual behaviors, and familial trauma.
My couples, interpersonal relationships, co-parents, and family therapies focus greatly on communication, needs, boundaries, and compassionate ways of expressing those boundaries using non-violent communication (NVC). I will support the system in finding the spaces where voices are being eclipsed, where resentments have formed, and where projections are being placed. These sessions I will be more directive and more involved in pausing dialogue when one party appears to be leaving their window of tolerance and working on ways to hold presence in the face of adversity. Somatic awareness and mindfulness techniques are of great use in their sessions paired with DBT coping skills. I will work with my clients at the pursuer-avoider pattern, the drama triangle, the window of tolerance, and attachment styles to better understand the ‘whys’ of how the system came to operate in the ways which call for therapeutic support.
I have an extensive background in child development and hold great respect for the work I do with children. This therapy is based greatly on developmentally appropriate approaches. Some of my favorites are play-based therapies, and sand tray. Children’s work and their healing is through their play.
